Your jewelry. What is it really worth?
Jewelry is not just a rock. It is a precious stone discovered and forged from nature. It is then painstakingly and expertly chiseled, like a Michelangelo, to let loose its unique brilliance. Then it is envisioned by a craftsman into a mini work of art. It is often given as a keepsake representing a deeply held emotion. It is part of a home, a history, a life, a heritage. It is a story.
Your appraisal. What is it really worth?
Your appraisal protects you. It helps define your insurance policy and assures a comparable replacement in the event of a loss. Your appraisal assists in dividing the family jewels in a fair process. Your appraisal defines fair market value in the event of a divorce. Financial planners, trusts and estates all rely on a professional appraisal to support your financial goals.
Your appraisal is an essential document containing information to help protect you specific to your situation. It is important that your appraisal be provided by an unbiased and qualified appraiser. Your appraisal is your peace of mind.
Your appraiser. What is he or she really worth?
Your appraiser should have the experience and qualifications to do the job right. Beyond Graduate Gemologist (GIA), your appraiser should be formally educated in appraisal methodology, appraisal report writing and USPAP. Unlike real estate appraisers, personal property appraisers are not state or federally regulated. Look for an appraiser who has undertaken the accreditation requirements of a professional appraisal organization like the American Society of Appraisers or International Society of Appraisers. Expect nothing less.
